In an aircraft the control panels of the cockpit can be made with a touch screen covered with a keyboard. It is lighter and slimmer than the prior art control panels, and it remains the classical interface for the pilots (physical keys and buttons).

1 TECHNICAL FIELD

In an aircraft, the control panels of the cockpit offers an interface between the pilots ant the avionic.

The current control panels are composed of some structural parts, electronic boards and different type of contactors. Internal routing of wiring connects the contactors output to an interface connectors to the systems. These control panels are heavy and expensive.

2 DESCRIPTION OF THE INNOVATION

The innovation proposes to use a touch screen board to realize the control panel function, instead of a specific board with LED, Domes, Rotators…

The touch screen is covered with a keyboard, of which the keys act on the touch screen by touching it. The touch screen can deliver visual information around the keys of the keyboard.

This innovation can realize the following functions:

 Keyboard with backlighting (displayed by the screen).
 Rotating button with backlighting and numerical information (displayed by the screen).

 Push Button with specific information (ON/OFF/INOP/FAULT …)(displayed by the screen).

 Provide digital information (current, Temperature, ON/FF, FAULT, WARNING …)
