Abstract

In case of emergency situations, typically there is a declarative list of preferred mobile contacts to seek help. This list is manually created by the device owner based on his preference and analysis. But this list does not considers the actual mobile usage statistics. It may happen that selected person is currently at remote location and is not able to provide immediate help due to various factors like unavailability, geographic location etc. There is a proposal for an 'Interaction Score' concept. It is about associating a score to the mobile contacts using a brand new algorithm which considers overall interaction statistics of a device owner with its mobile contacts. It also considers many other factors to define the usefulness of the mobile contacts.

Problem statement:

A lot of people travels alone and may end up in emergency situations.

For e.g. if a visitor say Tracy from USA is flying to country ABC and she has chosen cab for local travels in the destination country. She might land up in the emergency situation and need a immediate contact for her safety during emergency.

Existing Solutions:

During emergency situations the calls/text messages are typically made using predefined, static or declarative list of contacts.

Proposed solution:

In case of emergency situations, typically there is a declarative list of preferred mobile contacts to seek help. This list is manually created by the device owner based on his preference and analysis. But this list does not consider the actual mobile usage statistics. It may happen that selected person is currently at remote location and is not able to provide immediate help due to various factors like unavailability, geographic location etc.

The proposal is to determine an 'Interaction Score' of the contact.

It is about associating a score to the mobile contacts considering overall interaction statistics of a device owner with its mobile contacts. Other factors to define the usefulness of the mobile contacts are also considered.

Interaction score can be computed using following factors.

1. Mobile Bill Plan usage, to consider pattern of others user bill plan that whether he/she is having international calling available or not/ roaming enabled or not, Closed User group (CUG) etc.

2. Promptness of response provided to audio/video calls, textual messages etc.

3. In Social interaction, frequency of mails or messages send/received from that mobile user or number, Social media interaction on WhatsApp messages/Voice Calling, Skype -IM & Video calls,
LINE-Calls & Messages, OoVoo -Text Voice & Video Call, Tango -Messenger & Video Calls etc
4. Device State like Busy tone, Call waiting, Cellular network unavailability issues etc in our brand new algorithm proposed in disclosure.

5. also include a mechanism to debar or delisting of telemarketing calls etc. which further increases it usefulness and relevance.

A contact's usefulness can be more predictive based on above factors calculated on real interaction statistics.

decision making in choice of contact and target location to call, and making collect calls
- Score on Network of Contact of Contact can cumulatively help during the emergency, and also for different purposes such as advisement by Sales/Marketing

Score of Contact based on Bill Plan factors, along with Network of Contacts, can automatically assist the Telephone or Mobile Users in decision making like-
(a) which contact to chose
(b) which Bill Plan to chose among short-listed network of contacts
(c) whether to make a collect call or...
