System and method to use preconfigured gestures on smart phones to update meeting information and notify attendees instantly without having to open the invite

Meetings are used throughout corporate world to setup time with the participants. Participants receive invites, accept then they depend on the calendar system to show them invites whenever they need to. The issue that we are discussing here is when the meeting organizer for whatever reason gets delayed to start the meeting. These reasons could be as simple as his previous meeting is running over, he is busy in some critical piece of work that he has to complete at any cost before the meeting, he is stuck in the traffic etc.

Currently there is no system in place to help these kind of situations efficiently. There is no way for meeting organizer to quickly send messages to all the participant about a possible delay or some other kind of messages like meeting is going to start in 5 mins etc.

Present solution tries to solve this problem by having a mobile application that synchronizes with any calendar client and then by tapping on any meeting instance to quickly use gestures to send quick messages to participants, such that to use pre-configured gestures on smart phones to quickly update meeting information and notify attendees in a single swipe (gesture) without having to open the original invite.

Features:

Gestures to send quick messages to meeting participants without having to open actual invite or calendar.

Central to the proposed system is a mobile app to sync with user's calendar to display meeting instances.
user can just select one calendar instance and use various gestures to send notification messages through sms or whatsapp kind of applications.

The proposed mechanism and system can be applied to any desktop based meeting clients like Lotus Notes or web meetings.

Steps:

Stepwise description of how the implementation works:

Step 1: User downloads the "quick meeting notifier" application on his/her smart phone
Step 2: As part of the configuration process, the user configures a gesture in the application which set various aspects like a) A swipe across the screen equates to a band of 30 minutes b) Another gesture like a circle equates to a particular status message (aka a meeting information notice in notes) "Stuck in a meeting with executives will be late"

c) A cross could indicate cancellation notice sent to all the participants

Step 3: After the configuration is done, the application synchronizes with the users calendar server and keeps itself updated
Step 4: Prior to a meeting (unless explicitly invoked) the app comes to the forefront with a visua...
