Abstract

First the system need get standard clear airport images which can be taken on any days without haze and should be taken from different angles and heights for the purpose of the later step airport map mapping. Then input haze images of different heights which should be taken real-time. Then compute difference of luminance, chrominance, gradient density between the clear images and hazed images for getting parameter. Then use haze removal method to get the clearer images of the airport in order to increase visibility. Besides we use yellow Light detection help the ALS system to find yellow light easier in heavy fog day. Then use airport map mapping method to map the clearer images to real airport map and identify the real location of yellow lights which cannot be seen clearly on haze day. Then use light completion based rules to fill the light line. After that we can detect full runway. After got those information, we can determine Airplane position and angle adjustment. Then calibrate the person view, airport plane view and airplane view. Besides we can add barrier detection to avoid barriers in land. At last the system can offer landing instruction.

computing the difference of luminance, chromatism, gradient density for getting parameters by tuning threshold. Then use illumination model to re-illuminate the hazy area by using prior paramethers. This is the haze removal algorithm. Then use this method to get the clearer images of the airport in order to increase visibility. During the plane landing, the height varies and the thickness of haze will change on different heights. Haze has different level leading to different refraction index. So we Use different models on different heights and need consider the speed and direction of the plane. Specifically,when the plane's height changes during landing,the real-time photos will also change. We will compare these photos with clear photos to get different parameters on different heights. Then using these parameters to apply haze removal method.
