Majority of messaging applications allow the user to set automatic remainder that will be activated given number of minutes before the meeting. And that usually works well - you set the time to 5 minutes and then the system will notify you just in time so that you can stand up and go to the meeting room. But what if you are on lunch or still at home? In such cases you will need much more time than just 5 minutes. Of course, you could set remainder for more than 5 minutes for these particular meetings but in practice you don't always know in advance where you will be (and besides that level of manual tuning is inconvenient). And of course you don't know in advance about traffic condition on the way into the meeting place.

Another thing is that when you are driving to the meeting place it may still turn out that you won't make it on time. So in order to notify others you have to unlock your phone, find the meeting and send notification that you will be late or reschedule the meeting for further time.

This paper describes solution to the problem described above.
