Abstract

A method and system is disclosed for providing a “Buy Now” button on advertisements and product listing. The method and system adds the “Buy Now” button to the advertisements and product listing that allows a customer/user to purchase multiple products from different stores within the advertisements and product listings without leaving a webpage. A single portable built-in shopping cart is enabled across all stores/catalogs. The method and system provides a relationship with a common shopping cart via a virtual store and an inline filtering based on the product and the store in question. A single-click shopping experience is enabled for the customer/user with a single cross-store shopping cart hosted within the virtual store, potentially on a consumer property.

Description

Currently, social networks allow the customers/users to fulfill purchases by integrating in an ad hoc manner with merchants for individual advertisements.  The social networks are able to dynamically determine the attributes of the products/filters/stores and product metrics.  However, the social networks are not tied to stores/catalogs with built-in shopping cart functionality.  Therefore, there is a need for a comprehensive shopping experience that includes relevance, dynamic product filtering, trust factors, user engagement metrics, sales data, and ability to purchase multiple products from different stores/catalogs via a single virtual shopping cart across all advertisers.
