Disclosed is a method and system for providing additional information on a mobile device when a user scrolls down to refresh content on the mobile device.  The method and system detects the number of times the user performs a scroll-down gesture and accordingly presents additional information when the number of times exceeds a pre-defined threshold.

A user can perform a scroll-down gesture to view a scrollable list of content items displayed on the mobile device.  The scroll-down gesture may be a touch-based user input on the mobile device having a touch sensitive display.  In a scenario, there may not be any new content items to display when the user performs the scroll down gesture.  The method and system detects the number of times the user performs the scroll-down gesture on the mobile device.  When the number exceeds a pre-defined threshold, additional information may be provided to the user on the mobile device.  The additiona...
