Background

In final test process, often due to hardware setup issue lead to individual test site Bin8 (Open/Short) or leakage issue, lead to test site close automatically or serious site variation.  It seriously influences testing parallelism and final output by hour. At this point, engineers need to follow these four steps to solve the site issue:

1. Set up datalog.

2. Check the failed pin from datalog.

3. Check the location of failed pin from pin diagram.

4. Change or repair the pin at issue.

This is the current process for pogo pin repair or change during production maintenance. (Example shown asFigure 1).

The difficulty is with the pogo pin positioning. The current method of pogo pin positioning has 3 disadvantages:

1. Time – it takes on average about 5 minutes.

2. Only engineer has authority to set up datalog, which leads to low efficiency on process.

3. Only engineer has pin diagram of every product, which leads to low efficiency.

Solution

Develop a pogo pin automatic positioning tool. This tool has below function:

1. Database including the pin diagram of all products and all packages.
