Abstract

A method and system is disclosed providing an option to a recipient of a message to alert a sender of the message in case there is a planned delay in responding to the message. The method and system enables the recipient to notify the sender of the message that the message is acknowledged and a response to the message is delayed. Accordingly, a status associated with the message is updated to indicate the delay in response.

Abstract

A method and system is disclosed providing an option to a recipient of a message to alert a sender of the message in case there is a planned delay in responding to the message. The method and system enables the recipient to notify the sender of the message that the message is acknowledged and a response to the message is delayed. Accordingly, a status associated with the message is updated to indicate the delay in response.

Description

Existing messaging applications indicate various message statuses, such as, ‘delivered’, ‘read’, and ‘delivered but not read’. However, such statuses may not provide a comprehensive delineation of the situation to a sender of a message when the message is delivered/read, but not yet responded to. Therefore, there is a need for a method and system for updating a sender with that information when a response to a message is delayed.
