Abstract

Current advertisements in public transport like poster, pamphlet, on-board television, etc., are high-cost and low-efficiency solutions. To solve this problem, this invention offers a method to discount transportation based on passengers’ interactions with advertising in public transport. When passengers swipe the transport card to board, the associated mobile device get access and connect to the WIFI in public transport. The system serves ads to passengers and records the passengers’ actions like paging, clicking, subscribing and ordering, etc. Each action has different weights for discount. When passengers swipe again to get off, the system calculates the discount based on passengers’ actions and applies the discount to transportation.

This invention solves the problem that the current advertising in public transport is high cost and low efficiency.

Current solutions like poster, pamphlet, on-board television, etc., have following drawbacks:
High cost. The current solutions take much manpower and money for ads printing, distribution and replacement.

Low efficiency. Most passengers pay attention on their mobile device during the journey and rarely to care about the advertisement. Even if they see the ads, passengers receive information from static advertising passively without interaction.

To reduce advertising costs and make it more efficient, this invention offers a method to discount transportation based on passengers' interactions with advertising in public transport
