Abstract

This document describes a system to dynamically populate a web page based on a users viewing characteristics and page interactions such as the period of time they spend viewing one area of the page as well as website specific attributes such as data tags. The invention looks to use current technologies which are page analysis and user interaction analysis and join them both together and by using the novel part of this idea the decisions engine populate the same page intelligently based on the information that has been gathered.

Web page contents altering in real time based on user actions

The idea for this invention is to dynamically populate a web page based on a users viewing characteristics and page interactions such as the period of time they spend viewing one area of the page as well as website specific attributes such as data tags. The invention looks to use current technologies which are page analysis and user interaction analysis and join them both together and by using the novel part of this idea the decisions engine populate the same page intelligently based on the information that has been gathered.

The main advantage of using a system such as this will allow for the user to receive the most relevant information for them as they scroll down the page, thus the user will not have to deviate from the webpage to find other information relating to that they wish to view. Currently users have to click on different links to find relevant information or even continue to scroll through lots of irrelevant data to find

what they wish to view, this invention will allow the user to view the data they wish to see quickly and with minimal effort. An example of this tool in use would be a user of social media streams which implement 'endless scrolling'. As the user focusses on certain content form other users or content types the next endless scroll can provide more specific content based on the bits of the page they focussed on.

The invention works by using current technology to analyse two different aspects, the first aspect is the user interaction and the second is the page content. The user interactions are logged by breaking the page into a grid and understanding

what user interactions are taking place within the grid as well as outside(scroll bar), interactions such as web...
