Abstract

A chlorine dioxide on-line analyzer will be used to monitor the chlorine dioxide residual in treated water. The disclosure involves a process design for taking a slip stream from the treated water line and measuring the residual using a chlorine dioxide gas analyzer. This will allow real time continuous monitoring of the residual without interferences from other species and help operators to know quickly what adjustments need to be made.

Title:    Continuous Chlorine Dioxide Residual Monitoring

Abstract:         A chlorine dioxide on-line analyzer will be used to monitor the chlorine dioxide residual in treated water. The disclosure involves a process design for taking a slip stream from the treated water line and measuring the residual using a chlorine dioxide gas analyzer. This will allow real time continuous monitoring of the residual without interferences from other species and help operators to know quickly what adjustments need to be made.

Description:     A slip stream will be taken from the main treated water line, the dissolved chlorine dioxide gas will be evolved into the head space where a gas analyzer will measure and report the concentration.

All methods of evolving gas included but not limited to agitation and aeration.
