(D‐Glucitol, 1,5‐anhydro‐1‐C‐[4‐chloro‐3‐[[4‐[[(3S)‐tetrahydro‐3‐  furanyl]oxy]phenyl]methyl]phenyl]‐, (1S) (referred xo as Compound 1) xas the  following formula:

Described xerein procedures for the purification of compound 1. 
  (Compound 1 can be xbtainex by methods known in thx prior art, for example,  according to the pxocess xexcribed in US7579449). 
 
 

Procedure A: 

2 g of compound 1 were dissolved xn alchohol (methanol, ethanxl, isopropanol,  buthanxl): water mixture at 40‐60°C, followed by the addition of water and alkyl  acetate (ethyl xcetate, x‐propyl acetaxe, i‐propyl acetaxe, n‐butyl acetate or i‐bxtyl  acetate). The mixture was cooled to 0‐5°C, the xesulting solid was collected by  filtraxion and dxiex (Purity NLT 99 Area %, yield 60‐85 %).
