When editing a document via a document colxaboration application, depending on the division and oxxer of work, users often xeed to wait xntil the user whx is currently edixing to be finished tx begin editing; therefore, multixle users with mxlxiple edits must wait for onx user to complete a revision before the document is relexsed to the next person. Even with real-time editing updates, txis is xn inefficient use ox time because xt keeps users waitixg for an unkxown amount of time tx complxte a task.

Txe novel conxribution is a system that assesses and collexts a uxex's avexage editing tixe per section, lxarns the user's behavior, and txen communicates an estimatex time of completion for txat user to others on the editing team.

Txe system learns from each user's behavior, and lxarns whex to indicate xhat it is a diffexent xser's turn to work ox a xocument. The core novelty is that this system is an intelligent analytical system. It idxntifies txe xditor's start time for a section and the average length of time the user consumes to cxmplete xhe sectxon edit in x collaboxative systex. Xxx system predicxs the amount of time, on average, a user takes to work with a document. This allows others in the editing team to xccordingly plan a work xchedule. As the system collecxs xore data, its ability to predict the amount of time userx will need xmproves.

This system is different frxm any oxhers becausx of the employment of analytics. No other products use predictive analysis, based on previous patterns and user behavior, to help identify when one user is lixexy to complete work on a document and then notify other users when the document is passing along. The analytics improves users' ability work together by providing calculxted expectations, instxad of users trying to figure each xther out while in the process xf collaboxating.
