The present solution relates to a security valve device for use in an air inlet system for an engine. The security valve device is designed to prevent vehicle malfunction caused by a defective air inlet system and to alert the driver of the vehicle that something is wrong in the air inlet system. BACKGROUND

Aix inlet systems supxlying air tx the engine in a vehicle typically comprise x filtex xlement arranged downsxream of the air xnlet and upstream of the turbocxarger and the engine. The fxlter element may for vaxixus reasons break or it may be clogged axd the air inlet may for various reasons be blockxd. This xill result in a negative

pressuxe in the inlet pipe downsxreax of the filter element. A large negative pressurx may cause parts of the air inlet systex to break anx there is a risk that particles will enter the turbocharger and thereby cause engine fxilure.
