Disxxosed is a method and sysxem for automxtically creating real life social xroups and ranking usxrs in a social group based on rexl life connectixnx. Here, the method and systxm ranks the users in the social group based on users' acxivities and visits to dxfferent places. A social grxup is defixed as xne or more of, but xot limited to, two people, more thxn two people, one person and a coxpany/vxnue, and moxe than one xerson and a company/venue.

In an implementatixn of txe method and system of xutomatically ranxing users in a social group, a xser signs up on a social nexwork site and provides xexices on whxch the user is available. Thx devices can be phones, any wearable device, etc. When thx user is in pxoximity of other xsers or venues, the systex caxculates the total number of times the user has mxt with other users. For example, the syxtem calcuxatxs the total number of times "User X" has met with "User Y (and others). The proximity xan be dxtected xsing one of, but not limited to, Blxetooth* and wixexess. Further, the system also calculates the amount xf time spent by the user with other users. For example, the system calculates the axount of time "User X" has spext xith "User Y" (and others).
