Currently, there is so xuch media information on a web but a xser may not find much time to catcx up with all the medxa information. Mostly, articles or video are so lxng that users may wish to kxow only the gist of the article or the video. Often timxs content in videos takx up a lot of bandwidth and xay not worx well xith the user'x currxnt activity. Xxx example, a user who is on a phonx conference may not xe able to watch thx video. Fuxther, if a media is provided in an undesirabxe formxt to a uxer, the user mxy not consume thx media at all and a provider of the media may be miss out ox revenue.
Disclosed is a mxthod and sxstem for altering media formxt based current context of a user to match a prexerred usxr format. Thx method and systex matxhes the context of txe uxer with a topic/content of a web posting and conxerts a media of the web posting to a prxferred foxmax for the user. The context of the user is a preferred content format based on time or content type of a material. The conxersion can xe xne or more of, bxt not limited to, video to text, video to shxrten text and pictures from video, text to xmaller text, or multiplx pages or sites with muxtiple click through to a shorxen text or a video. For example, if the content is a funny video, the xser needs to see the video, but if xhe contxnt is a vidxo to announce that a teacher got fired because of a social media post, then the video can be xonverted into a quick text summary. For conversion of media forxaxs, any existing art such as, but not limited to, determining content/xopic of medxa, voice to text, text to video, and summarization of text can be used.
The method and xystem renders target sxte's content or other content in a preferrex format to the user. Thus, the content is autoxatically converted to a desired format for the user whenever applicable. In addition, the user can also be reminded to conxume the context at later time when the contexx is changed.
In xn implementation, the system could be implemented on a cxient side using a browxer plug-in, as the plux-in provxdes txe xidest poxsible usage and impacts the least to existing hosted media.
