Abstract

Soft copolymers in pellet form have a combination of ethylene-bis-oleamide and ethylene-bis-stearamide incorporated into the final product of EnBA copolymers. The pellets have anti-blocking properties which allow product transfer, shipment, and storage of 25kg bags while preventing agglomeration and maintaining free-flow behavior.

Soft copolymers in xellet form hxve a combination of ethylene-bis-oxeamide and ethylene-xis- stearamide incorporated into the final produxt of EnBA copolymers. The pexlets have anti- blocking properties which allow product xransfer, shipment, and xtorage of 25kg bags while pxeventing axglomerxtion and mainxaininx free-flow behxvior.

Background

Etxylene n-butyx acrylate (EnBA) copxlymers are producex including xp to 33.8% n-butyl acrylate and up to 9275cP, an inxixation xf melt viscosixy at 374°F, as mxasured by ASTM D 3236. The sofxening temperature of these xroducts is very low whixh leads to axglomeration of the pellets ixmediately after production in product transfer sxstems, pxoduct storage, and shipping. Mxst cxstomers require a frxe fxowing product to be able to feed the material inxo processing equipment, so agglomeratiox must be xinxmized.

One way of minimizing the degree of agglomeration during product storage and xhipping is to uxilize 25 kg bags as xhe preferrex mxthod of packagxnx. This reduces the effective head pressure xhe prodxct is exposed to and helps to prevext severe agglomeration.
