Nowadays, network in Cloud environment becomes more and more complex, when issues occur the cloud administrator hardly to investigate the root cause then perform debugging. This invention is to show the topology of physical network and virtual network in browser to cloud administrator to easily find issues.

Currently the existing related products show the topology of physical network and virtual network separately, do not show two types of networks together simultaneously, and do not provide the information of many aspects like net namespace, bond, bridge, etc in the topology. Some solutions depend on IaaS products can not show the topology of those vms which are not managed by these IaaS products . Moreover, no existing products or solution to show the network topology in Dashboard and realize the interaction with users.

This invention provides the method to graphically show the physical network and virtual network topology to users, for the sake of better abstractive network identification and management. An agent is implemented on the controller node to inquiry network interfaces, virtual machines, bridges related information based on a build sheet which lists all host names and IPs to generate the virtual device topology of internal nodes. And below protocols and tools are leveraged to generate the topology for physical network: ICMP(Internet Control Message Protocol), Traceroute, SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol), etc. Finally the controller node refer to the internal and external nodes structure to produce the completed managed network and data network topology in cloud environment....
