Abstract

As developed by Dow Polyurethanes, VORASTAR(TM) 7000 is a new product family of approximately 1:1 volume ratio spray polyurethane-urea hybrid elastomer systems for application to surfaces such as metal, wood, and concrete. For example, VORASTAR(TM) 7000 products are suitable for use in a number of industrial coating applications such as marine coatings, flooring, and tanks/vessels/pipe linings. VORASTAR(TM) 7000 products may be capable of demonstrating exceptional resistance to moisture, acids, bases, solvents, and/or other chemicals. For example, application of VORASTAR(TM) 7000 products may protect materials such as concrete and/or wood from mechanical degradation and materials such as metals from corrosion, when such coated materials come in contact with a variety of chemicals. Further, VORASTAR(TM) 7000 products may exhibit excellent flexibility, abrasion resistance, and/or impact strength, even at temperatures as low as -50 °C. Also, VORASTAR(TM) 7000 products may cure rapidly on spray application with standard spray equipment; thus, resulting in quick turnaround times and/or cost reduction for the application.
