Abstract

Save power for mobile device based on the analysis of app usage. Calculate the time schedule that the app is not used daily, weekly or monthly, and define that kind of schedule as app inactive time. Reduce or limit app access to system resource (such as network, GPS, Bluetooth and so on), when the app is still running at background during app inactive time.

Many people are using smart phone and smart device in daily life, but most of them are facing the sameproblem -- battery usage. Mobile device battery probably be not enough for a whole day's work.

Many apps which are not opened are still active background, and they will cost much power. Most of them will take resource from network, GPS, Bluetooth and so on. And so will some background services do.

Some mobile devices provider a kind of low power mode, which is triggered when battery power is under a specified value or user sets. Then mobile device will reduce the system resource usage to save power. But this kind of solution is not smart enough and will degrade the user experience.

We propose an invention of power saving for mobile device based on the analysis of app usage.
Monitor and analyze app usage time schedule

Calculate the time schedule that the app is not used daily, weekly or monthly, and define that kind of schedule as app inactive time

during app inactive time
When app is opened during app inactive time, add an additional time for the app run as normal background mode

Reduce or limit app access to system resource (such as network, GPS, Bluetooth and so on), when the app is still running at background

Provide an API for app to get the app inactive time for optimizing the app
