A method and system is disclosed for enabling a user to remotely connect with one or

more other users who share the same fitness regime for a shared exercise program.

The method and system provides a workout social network for connecting users with one or more other users who share the same fitness regime and/or fitness goal.

Similar to other social networks, a user is required to create a user profile on the

workout social network as well. A user profile includes information pertaining to fitness

regime, fitness goal and level of expertise, experience of a user and equipment details.

In accordance with the method and system disclosed herein, an exercise equipment of a user is configured to connect to the workout social network. Once connected, the user logs-in to the workout social network. The user can save a defined workout experience including a music playlist, the exercise equipment, workout regime and

nutrients that help the user to perform better.

The user based on the fitness regime and fitness goal could join a workout room in the

workout social network. The user can search for one or more workout rooms through a search interface. The one or more workout rooms can be narrowed by exercise type/style, and further by level of intensity. The one or more workout rooms can also have long term goals, such as preparing for a marathon, or losing weight.
