Currently, a print out only shows the first option in drop-downs of a form on printing any form that has drop-downs with multiple options that can be selected. The user may not be able to view all the drop-downs of the form after printing the form.
Disclosed is a method and system for enabling printing of a document along with drop-down options in the document. The method and system provides an option to print a document with drop-down options in the document. The printing option provides a button for "print with drop-down options" that gives a choice to print any form with all drop-down options. The method and system enables a user to review the different drop-down options and select the drop-down options that the user wants without the need to check on a device. The method and system also resolves the issue of multiple selectable fields with different dynamic drop-downs options in certain documents.
For instance, if a user wants to print a form with multiple drop-down options, the print out is as depicts in Figure 1.
When the user selects the option "print with drop-down options", a print function highlights additional print options under each of the fields in the document to expand the content of the drop-down. The user has the option to select preferred fields and content (or subset of field content) to be printed along with a document, wherein the content in the drop-down are hidden in the original document.
If a form is an interactive form, where the form produces dynamic drop-down options based on users choices, the method and system can print various combinations of drop-down options so the user can use the print out to as guidance.
The final print output, which is a transformed document, can be an overlay on original content, an addendum to the document or in a style suitable to the user.
