There are various existing ways of displaying items like lists, grid, matrix etc. but there is no efficient way to use these lists/grid/matrix etc. for further actions on portable electronic devices based on context of use. For example:


 Emails to Meetings: From a list of emails there is no way of giving ability to user to convert an email/list of emails to meeting/list of meetings.


 Recipes to Menu: From a list of recipes there is no way of giving ability to user to rearrange the recipes from list into weekly/monthly menu or calendar


 Message to To-do's: From a list of messages/work items there is no way to provide ability to user to convert it into to-do list


 Digital Campaigns to Scheduler: From a list of digital media campaigns there is no way of giving ability to user to arrange those campaigns to monthly or weekly scheduler.

Disclosed is a method and system to populate items in an organized structure from the list of items


 wherein on a portable device, an organized list of items is displayed


 wherein each item is an independent actionable entity with a drag and drop enabled on individual items and multiple items alike


 wherein system then generates a grid/matrix for the user with the items populated into the grid by taking the users context into consideration.


 wherein the user can drag and drop each item into a specific grid cell or edit these cells as

per her needs


It takes as input the list and provides ability to user to reorganize that list into more useful actions. It helps user process the data from the list to another organization, structure or matrix depending on context of use.

Below are the advantages of proposed concept:


 Helps the user process the existing list into more useful action.


 One level above organization of items into list or grid in a sense that user has ability to reuse the list into more useful actionable structure based on her context, can be reused and edited later.


 System shows a list to user. User performs a specific action on an item in the list


 System shows an organized structure of units to the user. User selects one or more units to place the selected item in the organized structure.


 System shows the organized structure with the selected item populated at appropriate

place for the user to verify. User confirms on the organized structure to go back to the list of item.

There are certain solutions to organize a list of items. However, they seek to do so using a grouping and a tagging approach. The proposed solution on the other hand allows the user to

process the list into a more useful actionable structure such as a grid.There is no solution, which
