A Method and System for Increasing Social Media Offer Benefits with Social Shares

Currently social media information is not utilized to enhance the promotions, offers, and coupons available to consumers today. Therefore, there is a need for a method to enhance areas such as promotions, offers, and coupons using social media information.

Disclosed is a method and system for increasing social media offer benefits with social shares. A counter is incremented with every social share by a user and an offer is

increased with corresponding values. The offers grow further as other individuals share the promotion or offer.

Fig. 1 illustrates an exemplary flow of the method and system of creating and sharing an offer in social media.

An offer is created using available tools by a user. For example, the offer might include one or more of, but not limited to, a promotion, an offer, a coupon, and an advertisement. The offer is shared on a social media through existing marketing channels such as, but not limited to, email, push, web, and social channels. The user needs to specify that the offer is set with at least two social reach thresholds with corresponding values. For example, the offer is 5% at twenty thousand shares, and then the offer increases to 8% at fifty thousand shares, and later the offer increases to 10% and so on.

A social reach which includes one or more of, but not limited to, shares, clicks, impressions, reactions is already determined. There are various types of social reach thresholds. The social reach threshold may be based on a number (e.g., Twenty thousand shares are equal to offer of 5%). The social reach threshold may incrementally increase (e.g., with every five thousand shares the offer increases to 1%). The social reach threshold may incrementally increase until a maximum offer is

reached (e.g., increases every ten thousand shares by an offer of 2% until a maximum offer of 50% is reached). The social reach threshold may be tiered (e.g., Increases the offer by 1% for every ten thousand shares until fifty thousand shares are reached, then increases the offer by 0.5% for the next ten thousand shares until hundred thousand shares are reached). The social reach threshold may be based on the potential reach of the users sharing (e.g., if a user has over ten thousand followers, the user's share is

worth a 2% increase and the other users share is worth a 1% increase). The social reach threshold may be increased based on day of week, time of day, holidays and other calendaring information (e.g., if a user shares a week before an event an offer of 2% increase is given for every ten thousand shares).
