Usually, participants traveling to an offsite meeting or conference may want to have some background materials beforehand (or even have non-related content in common beforehand) for discussion. One way to achieve this is to use the travelling time of participants and to find common materials of interest for participants to read/listen.

Disclosed is a method and system for building a podcast playlist for business groups en route to a destination. The podcast playlist is created based on information such as intersection of attributes of participants, content in the podcast, context/content of an event (such as meeting, conference) to be attended, and the length of travel time en route to the destination.

In accordance with the method and system, event information is retrieved along with the information about the participants (e.g., accessing a business directory, social media information, job roles, and relationships). The method and system identifies podcasts that match the profiles of the participants. Subsequently, the ETA / travel time of all participants are calculated. Thereafter, a weight is applied to the podcasts based on information such as participants' profiles and travel time for preparing a queue of podcasts for participants.
