The proposed process and method will allow the car system to automatically detect that the phone is overheating and will locate the device within the car. Then, the car will automatically pump colder air (or cold seat in the case of the hot seat contact) in the area where the phone is located to automatically cool the phone.

In this embodiment, if a phone is overheating (using a threshold that is close to the high limit of phones suggested by the manufacturer, such as 95 degrees Fahrenheit in case of iPhone users), then the car will automatically locate the phone within the car. Once the car locates the phone, the system will use localized cool air and pump it through the closest vent to the phone. This entire process is without the any interaction of the user, preventing from any distractions of the driver.

The system will:
1. Integrate phone warning messages into the car control unit.

2. Provide a proactive means to adjust local temperature of a selected AC/heat unit inside the car based on proximity of the car unit and the phone for the purpose of preventing the phone from overheating.

The present system is a method to detect a phone overheating inside the car and for the car to automatically locate the phone and provide localized cooling air to the area.

Step 1: Detecting the driver's phone in the car

In recent days, cars can automatically connect to phones and communicate in various

ways. Most cars with high technologies have a feature to allow a user to pair his/her phone in the car via Bluetooth (or similar methods) during set up. The car will automatically detect when the phone is inside the car.

Step 2: Detection of overheating of the phone

Smart phones have built-in features to detect whether the temperature of the phone is too hot. When that happens, the warning message is generated by the phone. The current system proposes to transmit this warning message to the car as well. The phone can also notify the car that the current application on the phone that is being used is a GPS navigation application or some other application (such as locating the nearby gas station) that is critical to the user.

The car is notified and the car will take action immediately.
