Abstract

One of the main reasons for noise pollution in any developing nation is the constant honking that takes place in crowded cities using shrill and often unregulated loud horns in vehicles. One of the available solution is regulatory Sign Boards mentioning “NO HORN ZONE”, the major drawback of this manual method is driver would easily ignore or might overlook and use the horn. Varies studies have indicated that excessive noise harms the activity or balance of human as well as animal life. In animals, noise can increase the risk of death by altering predator or prey detection and avoidance, interfere with reproduction and navigation. The primary objective of this solution is to solve excessive noise pollution via vehicle honking. This implements an inbuilt IoT apparatus in every vehicle which will automatically recognizes current location of the vehicle, along with zone or area information such as schools, hospitals, city limits, highways and wild life sanctuaries; and automatically regulate the dB levels of horns. Thereby avoiding unregulated loud horns and helps reduce noise pollution.
