The new method is used to rapidly and accurately switch desktop, application or other kind of pages on the touch screen devices. The gestures from the different locations of screen margin to the center area will show different pages into the screen. Just as, the desktop or application pages are dragged into the screen from the different directions.

With the increase in the number of applications on the touch screen devices, such as smart mobile phones and other electronic devices, more and more desktop pages or application pages are added to contain the icons of the applications. In this case, the user can not quickly switch to the desired page and find the desired application icon from a large number of pages. The user have to switch the pages one by one in the order until the desired page is displayed. This operating mode of switching pages is both time-consuming and laborious, affecting the user experience.

Here a new method will be provided to rapidly and accurately switch desktop or application pages on the touch screen devices .

The new method is used to rapidly and accurately switch desktop, application or other kind of pages on the touch screen devices. The gestures from the different locations of screen margin to the center area will show different pages into the screen. Just as, the desktop or application pages are dragged into the screen from the different directions.


The steps, how the method switch desktop or application pages, are as following.


1. The distribution of pages is defined according to the shape of the touch screen. And this can be done by selecting a predefined template, or customized by users. Taking a common rectangular mobile touch screen as an example, the below FIG. 1 shows a distribution template. The left margin of screen is divided into 3 parts, corresponding to Page1, Page2 and Page3 from top to bottom. The bottom screen margin contains Page4 and Page5 from left to right. The right margin with 2 parts, Page6 and Page7 from bottom to top. And the whole top margin is Page8.

2. When a gesture, from screen margin to the screen center, is happening on the touch screen. Page switching module will be triggered to

detect which part of screen margin the gesture comes from. Form example, below FIG.2 shows a gesture (the gray arrow) is happening from the lower right part of screen margin to the center area.
