A typical shampoo formulation consist of surfactants, cosurfactants, conditioning polymers and further additives.

This article reveals shampoo compositions of surfactants, cosurfactants, combinations of at least 2 conditioning polymers and anoil containing microemulsion (Plantasil Micro) for increased oil deposition on hair.

The following table shows several shampoo formulations containing, inter alia, conditioning polymers and Plantasil Micro. These shampoos were applied on human hair and the hair was extracted after drying. The extracts where analyzed by GC and the amount of Cetiol OE (Dicaprylyl Ether) was determined. The extraction results show a significant increase of Cetiol OE deposition from the microemulsion Plantasil Micro when the conditioning polymers Salcare SC 60 / PQ-10, Dehyquart Guar HP / PQ-10 and Dehyquart Guar TC / PQ-10 where combined compared to the use of only one conditioning polymer. The highest deposition of Cetiol OE was found for the combination of 0.1% PQ-10 and 0.1% Dehyquart Guar HP.
