Disclosed is a method and system for gathering customer satisfaction in a real-time manner.

The system includes a plurality of sensors such as gesture recognition sensors, weight

sensors and touch sensors for gathering data pertaining to a customer.

The gesture recognition sensors detects satisfaction level from facial expressions of a customer eating food. The weight sensors weigh food quantity kept on a plate of a customer after finishing the meal. The touch sensors embedded in plates, items on the table and with waiter/waitress (may be embedded in secondary smart device) that senses contact with one another.

System further includes a configurable customer feedback management (CFM) module that periodically takes inputs from these sensors.

The system also includes a pattern matching module that matches known patterns with patterns from sensors. In an exemplary embodiment, 3-D modeled data from the gesture recognition sensors are matched with known patterns such as happy face vs sad face vs disgusted emotion. Similarly, data from the weight sensors is analyzed to identify food quality.

In response to the pattern matching, a customer satisfaction ratio (SR-1) for Service Quality (SQ) and Food Quality (FQ) ratio is computed. These two values are combined to get the overall satisfaction ratio (SR).
