General description of the solution


o The purpose of this solution is to ensure cockpit safety by preventing unwanted entering in cockpit. It can prevent also prevent from crash caused by a defaulting pilot.


o The proposed system comprises:


o Cockpit door locking/unlocking button


o Position sensors fixed on the pilot seat


o Locking device for cockpit door


o Outside reception means such as laser target and antenna for Aircraft Control Tower


o Control Unit that includes a software for:

collecting and analyzing some inputs such as: speed, altitude, pilot presence, cockpit door status (locked/unlocked/open/closed), cockpit door button status (acctivated/deactivated), signals from reception means

each of the inputs is a boolean variable that can take different integer values according to the status

using the inputs through different scenario before
sending order signal to the locking device of the cockpit door.

o In order to analyse the flight configuration and the take the appropriate decision, the system need to be fed with additional devices as follow:

Aircraft flying data (speed ; altitude)

Pilots configuration (presence ; decision about door locking)

Control unit which make the on door locking/unlocking dependaing on all the inputs

o laser target: This device is located on the top of the aicraft and allow an airfighter to open the cockpit door using a coded laser signal pointed on the laser target.


o Control tower: This device allow control tower to open the cockpit door using using a radio signal. As a consequence, a the aircraft has to be fitted with dedicated radio acquisition device.
