Virtual recycle bin in a social network system

Problem Description

You are about to delete some files to clean up the device space, but you are wondering if you would need them again, and you suspect your friend may be interested in the files that you are going to remove. After removing the files, your friend does come to ask for those files as you suspect. But, it is too late…Why not sending the files to friend who interests to "recycle them" before you remove , and allow your friend to utilize the files. You can also benefit in getting the files back some day. If the files can be recycled among friends, we can benefit each other !

How if there is a virtual recycle bin from your social network ? Among your friends, what you want to delete would be the one that they treasure. You can delete the files that your friends have the same copies so you can retrieve the files back when needed . Or, if none of your friends have the same files, you can send the files to one of your friends who is also interested with the same theme .

The invention is to create a virtual recycle bin by leveraging social network to solve the problem of disk space shortage . In this system, social network information assists users to better manage their working space as they can delete the files that have the same copies among friends ; or transfer the files to the friend who is interested in the same theme.

Current Solution

One of current solutions (A Recycle Bin Function) tries to solve this issue with leaving the reference to the identical copy when deleting the file . However, It does not help the social network - people eager to find similar materials from friends. And it does not address the reality that the identical file may be changed either.

There are some space management tools that could provide deletion suggestions according to file sizeand frequency of usage to help users release local disk space. However, those tools do not help users get rid of the dilemma of 'to delete or notto delete'. Users still feel hesitate to delete the files that might be used again in the future.
