A Method and System for Displaying Different Level of a Message Content to Recipients

A method and system is disclosed for delivering/displaying different level of a message content and/or an activity stream to one or more recipients/social network connections/groups based on social relationship and rules/policies defined by an author/sender.

In accordance with the method and system disclosed herein, a user may categorize user's social connections (recipients) into various groups based on the social relationship with that the user shares with each of the social connections. Thereafter, the user associates an accessibility rights with each group based on the social relationship of the user with the social connections in a group. The accessibility rights define what part/portion/level of a message could be shared/displayed/delivered with a social connection of the user. Similarly, activity stream details are expanded/compressed for each social connection based on the accessibility rights.

Consider an exemplary scenario, wherein a user posted multiple posts on multiple days

on a social networking website. As the user has categorized the social connections in

multiple groups, the social connections have different level of accessibility rights with respect to the multiple posts that user posted.
