A Method and System for Monitoring Data Center using Drones

Disclosed is a method and system for monitoring data center using drones. The method and system deploys sensors over the data center and enable drones to fly around the sensors to continuously monitor and collect data from the data center. The drones perform the operation with minimal human interaction.

In accordance with an embodiment, the method and system deploys sensors over multiple data centers in various locations and monitors the respective data centers using drones. The sensors deployed over data centers may include, but not limited to, temperature sensors, humidity sensors, thermal sensors and the like. Further, the method and system allows drones to fly around multiple data centers to monitor each data center and identify any failure in a data center by collecting sensor data of the respective data center.

The drone can also include various capabilities which may include, but not limited to, an on board infrared thermometer, real time thermal imaging, analytics, cloud face recognition, barcode recognition, automatic deployment of drone and the like.

The on board infrared thermometer is used to monitor data within rack and other areas around the rack. Similarly, the real time thermal imaging is used to detect hot spots on data center through drone flight and patterns. The drone analytics is used to create analytical based decision models and reporting by using real time drone data feed of temperature. Further, the cloud face recognition is used to strengthen physical security of data centers through floor monitoring and face recognition of data center operators. Here, the cloud face recognition is also used to detect intruders and security alerts. The barcode recognition is used for auditing, tracking, and recording tower information. Later, the automatic deployment of drone is used to automatically deploy drones based on multiple events, tracking, sensors, or processes.
