Abstract

The invention is related to a new workflow to combine the acoustic and image structural interpretation in a unique product Both measurements acquired in wellbore intend to map the local structural features of the formation The data integration proposed in this patent intent to corroborate and extract the maximum information with minimum human intervention to be applied in a fast mode The results will help the production engineering to better plan the production system considering the geological features of the formation The technique will be based on the Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Interference System ANFIS applied to classify the different types of structural features using log interpretation answer products The structural features can be separated in groups induced fractures and natural fractures The induced fractures patterns are breakouts or open fractures near wellbore The natural fractures can be opens or closed fractures Other classifications are faults where is possible to detect a block movement into the same layer and folds Each feature will have a weight associated to the certainty of the interpretation Acoustic and Resistive and Acoustic Image have different physics of measurement and based on that is possible to interpret the formation utilizing these techniques The type of the mud will also help in the interpretation and will be considered in the method At the end of the processing most of structures information will be extracted from the borehole One product will be delivering to client in the same format they will use for the reservoir modeling The workflow is under development and will be test with some datasets The commercial product is a module in Jewel Suite used to integrate and classify the structural features Main application is a perforation and production planning preventing seal loss feed structural model and identifies fracture connectivity among others
