Abstract

It's a dangerous behavior when driver only uses one hand to hold the wheel on the road, especially when the vehicle speed is very high. This invention is to use pressure sensor and temperature sensor on the wheel, when vehicle speed is faster than a specific value, a system will check if current driver only puts one hand on the wheel to control, if such behavior is detected, and the duration time is relatively long, a safe and protection measurement will be started.

Background:

It's a dangerous behavior when driver only uses one hand to hold the wheel on the road, especially when the vehicle speed is very high. As we known, many manual car driver likes putting one hand on the gear and only uses one hand to control the wheel, or some driver uses one hand to answer a call on the road, and so on.

Core Idea:

The core idea for this invention is using pressure sensor and temperature sensor on the wheel, when vehicle speed is faster than a specific value, a system will check if current driver only puts one hand on the wheel to control, if such behavior is detected, and the duration time is relatively long, a safe and protection measurement will be started.

Advantages:

The attached Figure below is the flow chart for this method. And the steps, how the system works, are as following.

0. User can customize and pre-define the threshold data for speed and duration;

1. The system will be initialized once the speed exceeds the threshold;

2. The sensor part on the wheel will work to detect if driver only use one hand to control;

3. If yes, system will record the duration and compare with the time threshold;
