Nowadays, the phone screen size is larger and larger to let user have better view experience. But with this large screen, user is difficult to control the screen with only one hand (mostly, thumb). Thumb is shorter than other fingers and the reaching area is limited. Current methods to solve this issue is by some trigger button or setting to change the layout for one hand use.

For example:

Some smart phone can swift down the UI by double click the HOME button

and some smart phone can slide right or left of the screen to shrink the UI

With the current methods, they all have drawbacks:

1) They all need user to click a button or swift the screen to enable the function. They can't automatically identify if you're controlling with one hand.

2) They all can't identify that user is using left or right hand to control automatically.

3) They all have only fixed layout for every body. But, people have different length of thumb and the reachable area is different from each other.

Furthermore, there are current methods to identify the left or right hand use on mobile phone but it needs additional sensors to attached on mobile phone(CN 104572044 A). It is not a practical method.

Therefore, we propose a method to 1) identify user is using the phone with left hand or right hand, 2) user's thumb reaching area, 3) adjust UI for user's one hand control based on user's thumb reaching area.

This disclosure proposed a idea to identify if user is using the phone with left hand or right hand, and user's thumb reach area, then generate the UI based on the reaching area. The system will identify if user is controlling the phone by left hand or right hand, and identify user's thumb reaching area by asking user to unlock the screen. To unlock the screen, user needs to move the lock from the bottom

of the screen to top of the screen. With this unlocking process, the system will know user is controlling the phone with left or right hand and the user's thumb reaching area, then adjust the UI accordingly.

1. Identify user's thumb reaching area while unlocking the screen.

2. Identify user is on left hand use or right hand use.
