Abstract

In the current mobile phones, if the user doesn't save the phone number, it's difficult to recall what the phone number is only according to the known call records function. Therefore, we propose a new facility function that can assist user easily find the un-saved phone number of the person they need to connect with, just depending on the call history records. The idea is adding keywords to the telephone numbers. The keywords are extracted from the content of conversation, by speech recognition and text mining technologies. The extracted keywords will be displayed together with dialing time below each telephone number in call history records.

Mobile phones provide function of recording call history, which includes the contact name, telephone number and the dialing time for each call record. User can browse who called him/her or when made a call to others. However, if user forgot to save the numbers instantly or he/she thought some numbers are not necessary to be saved, only phone numbers and dialing time are displayed in call records. Once the user need to contact with those people again after several days, it's difficult to recall what the phone number is only according to the known call records function.

According to memorizing habit of human brain, people can recall something if there are some citations. Therefore, we propose a new facility function that can assist user easily find the un-saved phone number of the person they need to connect with, just depending on the call history records. The idea is adding keywords to the telephone numbers. The keywords are extracted from the content of conversation, by speech recognition and text mining technologies. The extracted keywords will be displayed together with dialing time below each telephone number in call history records. Besides, if the extracted keywords are also automatically added into contact list as additional description, they are helpful in case the user forgot who the saved contacts are.

This method is based on the technologies of speech recognition and text mining, representing each telephone number with several key words. These key words are extracted by considering the words frequency in the conversations of one telephone number, but is offset by the conversation frequency in the corpus (all the conversations in the mobile phone), which helps to adjust for the fact that some words appear more frequently in general. For example, word AAA appears many times in one conversation, if it has appeared in so many conversations, therefore AAA should be a low-weighted keyword; if it never appears in other conversations, it should be a high-weighted keyword.
