Abstract

A feature for a digital copying system allows the original pages of a job to be physically inserted into the output document when the output collation is set to "uncollated". A new path connecting the input scanning subsystem to the output subsystem is created. After scanning, the page is sent to the output subsystem and the original page is sent through a special paper path and joins the output pages in the correct place. For example, the original pages may be A, B, C and the output pages would be A, A, A, B, B, B, C, C, C where the first A, B, or C would be the original, and the rest of the series would be a copy.
