This article discloses a method and system used to improve online web meeting's quality and performance via analytic. The system can analyse vairous historical metrics data and realtime data to anticipate online web meeting's quality in future. Based on the analytic result, the system can give some suggetions to meeting host to find a best time to schedule the web meeting, and give suggestions about how to run the web meeting for best performance.

In current enterprise collaboration environment, every day we need to schedule meetings to collaborate with others. Nowadays , for most of the meetings, we will use a online web meeting to play slides or share the presenter's screen. The online web meeting's quality is very important for our collaboration.

However, currently users know nothing about the online meeting's quality until they actually open it and meet issues. Usually we open a online web meeting, then find the performance/quality is poor to run our meeting, which leads to bad meeting experience and participants are wasting time to wait for online meeting to response.

There is a clear need to improve online web meeting's quality and user experience.

The invention improves online web meeting's quality and user experience through:

collect related statistic data for online web meeting

retrieve meeting schedules from calendar server

analyze the statistic data and meeting schedule to anticipate online meeting quality for each meeting

Scenario

Bob is going to host a meeting with Alice, Eric and Jim, and plans to use online web meeting.

This invention modifies the UI to gives some suggestions for meeting time, when the quality would be good and the time is available for all participants.

Bob picks a time and sends invitation.

During the meeting, this invention gives realtime feedback on the meeting UI about current meeting quality, and anticipation for the quality for next couples of minutes.

Bob knows from the feedback whether the quality is good for screen sharing, or slides sharing only, and knows if the quality will become better or worse soon.
