Disclosed a writing slate mobile application to aid children with special disabilities (like Dysgraphia) in writing practice. i. Novelty features like measuring the pressure changes, and the time to write certain parts of the alphabets (such as straight segments vs curvatures, vs crossing lines, etc.) can be correlated to the awkwardness index. When writing multiple alphabets, the differing sizes is another indication of this neurological condition. This invention can be used for treatment of such conditions also by measuring the tiny changes in the repeating exercises and pointing to progress from this condition or lack-of, which can become a useful tool to educators. Following 3 other key ideas proposed in this disclosure could be used as part of the treatment mechanism for children with kind of disabilities specified above. ii. The novelty of using large sizes to start with till fluency is established (fluency measurement is in prior art but not varying the alphabet size from larger to smaller as an approach to establish fluency) is another key idea proposed in this invention iii. The novelty of assessing the user’s confidence of reproducing the alphabet, as writing practice progresses a. Time spent with accuracy would be considered for the confidence assessment iv. By setting the threshold for deviation of the shape of the alphabet appropriately, the accuracy of the alphabet being learnt by the user could be improved. a. Setting different threshold values for different alphabets being learnt is possible b. setting larger threshold values at the start of the practicing the alphabet, and gradually decreasing the threshold as the writing practice progresses c. Detecting the deviation and warning on the fly even though the alphabet is partially being produced is possible

Functionalities of the Proposed Writing Slate App

Consider that a user wanted to learn a new language, say Hindi

The alphabet's of the this language appear on the mobile device screen

  The below functionalities could be provided to aid an enriched experience during the writing practice by the user

1. Correction during Writing Practice:
o The user practices writing using his finger on the mobile device screen by overwriting on the background alphabet.
o During this overwriting process, the user might deviate from the original shape of the alphabet.
o If the deviation of the shape is beyond some threshold, the writing slate application generates warning sounds (by highlighting the part of the letter deviated from the original shape, say in Red color)

2. Auto Adjustment of the Text Size:
o The practitioner faces lot of difficulty if the background alphabet is in small size, during writing practice.
o The writing slate application self adjusts the size of the background alphabet

• to help the user gain a handle on the shape of the alphabet more

             • Progressively reducing the alphabet size as user's expertise increases and gets control

3. Auto Assessment of the Confidence of User:
o Typically it requires multiple passes of overwriting the background alphabet, before the user gain a handle on the shape of the alphabet.
o The writing slate application keeps assessing the users confidence of self producing the alphabet; and prompts to stop practicing when it assesses that the user got a good handle on the shape of the alphabet.
