Disclosed is a method and system for predicting, alerting, and proposing corrective actions to avoid road hazards. The method and system analyzes data collected from multiple data sources and generates an alert/notification to a user whose vehicle is within a pre-set range of the road hazard and proposes a list of corrective actions for avoiding the upcoming road hazard.

In accordance with an embodiment, the system includes a computer data analytic application program which is installed on a user's mobile device or on a user's vehicle computer. The computer data analytic application program interfaces/links with multiple data sources to collect data related to road hazards. The multiple data sources may include, but not be limited to, social media programs, internet based news reports, mapping programs, GPS data, weather data, local government data, local transportation department data and the like.

The data collected from the multiple data sources is analyzed to predict, alert, and propose a list of corrective actions as illustrated in Figure 1.

As illustrated in Figure1, the method and system analyzes the data using various methods and predicts the probability that road hazards are located within the pre-set range of the user's vehicle location by comparing GPS coordinates of the user's vehicle

location with the data collected from multiple data sources.

Then, the method and system generates an audio or visual alert/notification to the user when the analysis of the available data predicts that the user's vehicle is in close proximity to a road hazard.
