Abstract

An efficient LED lighting system that integrates through wires into the driver PCBAs is disclosed. The driver of the lighting system is connected to the LEDs with through wires, which consist of AC and dimming wires integrated to the PCBA as the copper traces. There are no free wires that need to be soldered where the wirings are integrated into a PCBA. The LED lighting system saves cost and increases the efficiency of assembly.

BACKGROUND

The present invention relates in general to a lighting system and in particular, wiring for LED bar based on integrated printed circuit board assembly (PCBAs). Generally, for lighting fixture chains, through wires include AC power mains and dimming wires. The wire gauge is around 14AWG. 2 to 4 wires are used for AC and dimming wires. The wire is expensive and occupies more space. Besides, it is not easy to assemble and fix these wires in the narrow driver enclosure. It is also easy to make mistakes during soldering of the wires. The packing efficiency is low with individual LED bar, driver, and wires and underprops of the PCBA. Therefore, there is a need for a more compact lighting system.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The invention presents an efficient LED lighting system by integrating the through wires into the driver PCBAs. As shown in FIG. 1, the system includes an LED bar, a holder system and a driver. The driver of the lighting system is connected to the power supply with through wires, which are integrated to the PCBA as copper traces. The PCBA is soldered or mounted directly on the holder system, thereby removing the need to solder free wires for attachment. In one configuration,...
