- Disclosed is a system and method for composing, categorizing multimedia content in mobile & other platforms, where in, it provides rich Television like viewing experience while watching/playing the media content. These contents can be loaded from the user personal libraries or can be downloaded from the public media networks. In this era of digital media technology, enormous amount of media files are present in public internet sites. But currently the users has to surf different websites to download the media of interest, store it in their personal libraries, organize the content for easy reference and identification, and then play it in a media player, which are manual, do-it-yourself operations and involves too much time/work. The proposal is to improve the user experience in each of these steps starting from search, download, multidimensional categorization, playback, ability to use the established setup in multiple devices without redoing, sharing, and recommending to others users in the system. The system has a user interface for performing these operations and a centralized media repository in cloud, to share the videos along with the profile. These features are not known and has added features compared to the existing systems and patents published. The system consists of the following sub systems 1. Passive Capture and Listener: This runs in background which listens to the actions performed by the user in public internet search sites and media sites. The sites to which this system has to listen can be configured. Whenever user access the search or media sites (say Google, YouTube), it captures the search term, and passively looks for any matching content available in the central media repository. If any matching content is available, it provides the results to the user, so that the user can directly download the content form the media repository along with the associated profile. The advantage of downloading the content from the repository is, these content are already categorized, and hence once downloaded, will associate itself to the respective category in the user profile. If the content is not available, and the user downloads the content from the public internet sites, then this system based on the search term and metadata associated with the content, suggest the matching category to associate. User can either select the existing category or create a new category and associate the content. The user can also associate a content to multiple categories and add more custom metadata. The user can search using the interface provided by the system or through any browser. The user has the option to turn-off this system at any time during surfing the net. 2. Categorization System: This system intelligently looks for the metadata/profile information available with the downloaded/loaded content and suggests the associated category. User can bind content to multiple categories at multiple levels. These information are loaded and maintained in a profile. In case of any profile information available (for contents downloaded from central repository), the system automatically associates the content to the respective category or create new if not available, after confirming from the user. 3. Profiling System: The user during the first time has the option to select and merge profiles from the default available list of profiles recommended by the system. The profile once constructed can be edited at any time by the user. The user also has the option of constructing the profile based on his/her choice and upload it to the centralized profile repository for usage by others. He can also recommend the profile to other users available in the system. The user once logged in, can view these recommendations in the messages view. The profile is a multilevel hierarchical structure consists of different categories. The content are attached to these categories. Profiling system allows the profile to be synched across multiple devices and platforms to have consistent view of content and experience. 4. Centralized Media & Profile Repository: This system stores all the uploaded media content along with the profile. When the passive capture & listener system queries for a matching content, this system searches the profile data that matches the search term and constructs the response that has content URL details along with the associated profile information. This is a cloud based system, where the users can store their content in a private mode, and also share the content in different mode (personal group, friends group, public group etc). The user while sharing has just to mention the mode of sharing like private, personal group, friends group, public etc, and the content will be visible only for those members present in the group. The system provides the option of creating/editing custom groups and add/update members in that group except for public group, where all the members by default will be added to this group. - 5. User Portal: Interface for the user to have a television like viewing experience. The user can search for media contents. If the searched content is not available from the centralized repository, then the system will automatically search against the public internet sites that are configured in the system. The user portal after downloading the content suggests the categories to associate the content. The user can drag and drop media from one category to another category and also associate the content to multiple category. The portal provides a tree like structure listing all the categories. These categories act as channels and the user can switch between channels and can play content. The user can at a time stream and load multiple contents from different channels, while one channel remains active at a time. User portal also has an inbuilt recommendation engine, that shows the list of online users from the selected group, and the user can recommend profile/content to the online users so that immediately they will be notified. Users can also recommend the content/profile to the offline users in the group, and the recommended content will be viewed in the message section. The users in the group must mutually agree for sharing of contents .

-In this era of smart phones and digital media management, accessing/playing multimedia content is on the rise be it for entertainment, social networking, knowledge sharing, and for other personal/official reasons. While there are may apps that enables multimedia content (audio/video) to be searched, streamed , downloaded and played back, the options to personally categorize the content based on users choice, profiling it, sharing the profile across different devices to have consistent view of content, and other features like user preferred storing and download mechanisms are very cumbersome and involves huge manual efforts. The primary motivation is to create an environment for enriching the user experience in accessing, using, profiling and sharing multimedia content in a mobile platform to have a T.V. like viewing experience of multimedia content. -Multimedia content is available from different apps/services . It is not uncommon for a user to search and use content from different apps/services, download the content for later offline usage, save it locally or in cloud in a format for future retrieval and manually repeat the same operations again and again, to make these content accessible from multiple devices. Often users who had a repository of categorized content might be willing to share the content with other users in a private/public repository and also users who are equally interested in downloading the tailor-made categorized content of his/her interest, directly from other user's private/public repository. Currently with the existing technologies/systems, these operations are cumbersome, recursive, manual and not efficient, thereby making it necessary for a need of an improved system and methods.
As such more benefits can be realized, with increased user experience and less manual effort, by improved system and methods for composing, categorizing and profiling multimedia content to have a T.V like viewing experience in mobile (and other platforms), and to enable the sharing of content by upload/download to common private/public repository within the system, and profile sharing across devices
