Method and system for driverless emergency vehicle movement in driverless vehicle environment

Various emergency vehicle management are in place. Some are proactive notification based lane clearing, some are service lane based system etc. Still the emergency vehicle has to follow the direction of travel and accordingly appropriate lane has to be selected, the emergency vehicle can't travel opposite to the direction of movement of other vehicles, it may cause accident. At the same time emergency vehicle also has to cross the heavy traffic jam, so there has to be a method and system by which emergency vehicle can freely move in driverless vehicle environment.

Following diagram (Figure 1) talks about similar scenario, it will be a difficulty for emergency vehicle to travel in an opposite direction of other vehicle's movement, and this may cause accident. Otherwise huge manual management is required to drive the emergency vehicle in the opposite direction, as per the diagram, we can find the emergency vehicle has to move a long distance to reach to hospital.

This article proposes a method and system by which

1. Driverless emergency vehicle will inform cloud server about the target location, and accordingly Cloud server will calculate the shortest route to reach to the destination.

2. The cloud server will calculate the expected time to reach in different point in the calculated route, and accordingly will calculate which are the other vehicles will be available in that road portion.

3. The remote server will adjust the position, speed, spacing among the other vehicles to create a vacant in that area, so that emergence vehicle can pass through

4. The cloud server will also communicate the other vehicles to create a passage by changing the position of the vehicle so that the emergency vehicle can pass through.

Following diagram (Figure 2) talks about how the emergency vehicles will be travelling to opposite direction in driverless vehicle environment. This is to reach at the destination with shortest possible time. The emergency vehicles will be communicating with other participating vehicles and accordingly will coordinate with the ecosystem to create a path for emergency vehicle, The driverless vehicles will be communicate in such a way that emergency vehicle will get priority and accordingly other vehicle will stop, slower down the speed or increase the speed, so that pa...
