Abstract

BACKGROUND

                  A fuse module can comprise a fuse through which electrical current can flow.  As a result of this electrical current flow, a temperature of the fuse and/or the fuse holder, may become high, which may result in damage or other issues.

                  According to an aspect, a fuse module comprises a first fuse holder associated with a fuse assembly and a second fuse holder associated with the fuse assembly.  The fuse module comprises a fin associated with the fuse assembly.  The fin is disposed in a first cooling space between the first fuse holder and the second fuse holder.  The fin is configured to absorb heat from at least one of a first fuse in the first fuse holder or a second fuse in the second fuse holder and to transmit the heat to the fuse assembly. 

                  According to another aspect, a fuse module comprises an enclosure comprising a plurality of walls that define an interior in which one or more fuses are disposed.  The fuse module comprises a heat sink attached to an exterior surface of a wall of the plurality of walls.  The heat sink comprises a first heat dissipating element and a second heat dissipating element.  The first heat dissipating element is spaced apart from the second heat dissipating element to define a second cooling space between the first heat dissipating element and the second heat dissipating element.  The heat sink is configured to absorb heat from the enclosure and to transmit the heat to a material in the second cooling space.
