Generally, a healthcare facility is equipped with a number of person support apparatuses. The patient may be connected or engaged with multiple monitoring devices that sense and measure parameters associated with the person support apparatus. Such parameters may be associated with a patient occupying the person support apparatus who may desire a customized occupancy settings for herself, and those being probably configured to suit a patient’s condition. These monitoring devices generally help to keep a continuous check on the patient on various physiological parameters that include Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Respiratory Rate, Oxygen Saturation Percentage, Body Temperature etc. The type of physiological parameter measured varies with the condition of the patient and the administered treatment. Such monitoring devices can also monitor one or more conditions of error in the person support apparatus.
In many conditions, an appropriate positioning of a patient on the person support apparatus is required to aid in the healing process of the patient. Conventionally, to keep a check on the patient positioning, a hospital personnel may have to repeatedly attend to the patient to monitor a position of the patient. If the position of the patient is found to be inappropriate, associated correction procedures may follow suit. However, such repeated visits by caregivers consume time and are generally laborious. Thus, there exists a need for a monitoring device which can timely and effortlessly measure the parameters of person support apparatus, which are associated with the condition of the patient, so as to ensure compliance of the patient towards the treatment administered to her, and/or, correcting faulty conditions of the person support apparatus.
The disclosure generally relates to a method of detecting and rectifying an error condition of a person support apparatus. The method comprises associating a rectifier device with the person support apparatus. The plurality of parameters of the person support apparatus and/or other monitors, are sensed and compared with a set of corresponding preset parameters. An error signal is generated, if, at least one of the plurality of parameters fails to match with a corresponding preset parameter. The error signal is communicated to the computing device within involves a display.
