Method and System for Performing Evolutionary A/B Web Page Testing

Disclosed is a method and system for automatically providing small, random changes to a web page using evolutionary web page design. The method and system, then, tests the small, random changes made to the webpage against the original design of the web page using evolutionary A/B web page testing.

If the changed web page is shown to be more successful, the method and system allows the changed web page to "live" and become the new web page presented to users while the original or prior version of the web page will no longer exist. On the other hand, if the changed web page is not more successful than the original web page, the changed web page "dies" and the original web page remains in place. The process is then repeated on the more successful web page.

In accordance with an embodiment, the method and system provides multiple small changes to each evolving web page but each change is limited to be a small change. For example, a font size of text on a button can change a few points or if a series of images are shown as a slide show presentation, a time for which each image is shown and the transition timing can vary by a few seconds.
