People with fast-paced lives are eager to find a way to reduce time spent on routine food shopping. Some shopping management applications (apps) are helpful, but users are still challenged to find a way to reduce the time spent on food shopping; people still need to determine what to buy as well as the best time and place to buy it.

Current solutions for providing shopping assistance are in two categories. The first category is the shopping management apps, which provide a shopping list notepad for

users to input a shopping list and provide a to-do list to help people make purchases. The other category is the shopping coupon integration apps, which provides a set of

coupons that help the user choose what to buy and from where. However, there are several drawbacks to the current inventions. Current systems and method do not keep a history of food shortage; users need to think about what to buy. Current systems and methods are not intelligent enough to identify when and what to purchase.

The novel contribution is a one-stop food management system that intelligently notifies food suppliers when a food shortage occurs and then prompts a delivery of the needed items to the user. With this system, the users do not need to worry about what to buy or when and where to buy it.

The system comprises three parts:

1. Food weight sensors that record the current food status 2. Mobile devices that send the food status to the cloud server 3. The servers in the cloud that store the food status, intelligently analyze the food status, generate food status reports, and automatically notify food suppliers to d...
